Over the past couple of years, I’ve been painting ‘snowboard postcards,’ a hand drawn version of a snowboard and bindings, over the top of colorful backgrounds on 5x7” watercolor paper. They’ve made for awesome note cards, thank you cards, framed art pieces, and installations using multiple cards. When Danny Davis hit me up to discuss the artist collaboration for his signature goggle, these postcards popped up as a possibility, seeing how the narrow height of a goggle strap would accommodate my painted style of snowboard. We threw around a couple other possibilities, but these paintings drew the most attention. Dragon comped the idea, sent it back, we made some revisions, narrowed it down to the top three, then eventually settled on the design you see here. It was a fun process kicking around ideas with Danny, selecting which unique painting to use, discussing background options and frame colors, and lens options. I’m so thankful Danny brought up this opportunity with Dragon!
