Photo documentary for Burton’s ‘Built On Boards’ series about snowboarding pioneer and product guru John Gerndt in his home state of Vermont. Over the course of three days, we followed JG on snowy chairlift laps, hiked off piste terrain under bluebird skies, and powder surfed amongst Northeastern old growth trees with John’s son Zaine.

In addition to the outdoor action, JG guided us through numerous Burton Snowboards research and development departments where he and his team have dreamed up, tested and proto typed industry leading products.

Witnessing JG’s stoke and passion for the outdoors he’s passing down to his son, along with his ground breaking product development processes was a real treat, making this a truly special photo assignment. Many thanks to the Gerndt Family for letting our production team into their home and lives.
